GOD help me save money

Is GOD the world's great bargainer?? How come he can help me save money??

Lately was just thinking of how I should split my pay cheque, so that it could be divided in a good way to

1. Pay school fees.
2. Fulfill my pledge
3. Continue to tithe
4. Give money to mom
5. Monthly expenses
6. Savings
7. Set money aside for my molar tooth treatment and extraction of wisdom tooth.

Seems like so many things to split and that pay cheque is not growing? HOW!?

Let me share with u on how GOD help me see the light despite so many monetary commitment.

I went to the dentist at the NDC today because I can get a subsidised rate there. GOD gave me lots of savings thru there.

1. I was expecting my molar treatment to cost $1200 but now it would only cost me $700-$800 and this sum is payable only say in 8 months time.

2. Wisdom tooth extraction would cost me $645 but that is completely payable by medisave, which means I dont have to fork out a single cent.

GOD help me plan my studies for next year better as well, and with a saving again.

Was thinking might have to do 3 modules next sem, which mean school fees would be $3000++ but because some modules I might need to repeat will not be provided next sem, I have to study for another one year and not only one sem. Therefore, I might end up doing ony one module next sem, which will cost me $1250..
Although it is not really a saving, but the thought of having to put aside only $1250 for school fees instead of $3000+++ is SUPER!

Try asking GOD to help u bargain for better prices in areas of financial committment. Of course i think GOD doesnt allow us to bargain on tithing amount right?? haha just kidding, GOD.

crabbie thrill

Crabs are everywhere on and beneath the beaches. Lucky YS, elated with his catch.

Paddling away

Halfway to Pangkor Laut, a nearby island. Difficult to maneuver. A big risk with my cam! The reward: a stretch of a nice, secluded beach on Laut.

Paddling away.

A touching movie...

"Everything we do is just a drop in the ocean, but if we dont do it, that drop will be missing forever"

"Where there is sadness, I bring joy. Where there is darkness, I bring light"

"To give hope to those who lose it, and to recognize the face of the LORD in the those who suffered"

These were what Mother Teresa said in this latest VCD i watch titled: Mother Teresa of Calcutta. Really was a lengthy show of 3 hours, but whether or not the show is a 100% portray of what happening to Mother Teresa, this show have indeed touched me heart.

From the movie, I caught this spirit from Mother Teresa. To her, she didnt dream of helping the world at the first stage, and not through big projects that would impact all. She went to the streets, help one and another individual. Towards the end of her life, the misssionaries of charities were actually so huge that it was run professionally, but she still stand firm in going to the streets to help people. To her, statutories and other structure were not so important, but she just wanted to help with a personal touch.

Does this show what is of the world today?? Many ways of doing community service now, some choose to go ground level, some choose to make big plans on a higher level. But if u have never been to ground level, would you be truly able to understand what is going on?

Another thing I caught from the show, is the "innocent" of Mother Teresa. She just leaves everything to GOD and his providence. When her partners ask if they should take a sum of money that they have allocated for something else after it seeems they have no money for their new project, Mother Teresa said, "No. It seems the LORD is not very urgent on the new project"

What did this speak to you?? Well, it spoke to me that we should never let our plans become more urgent then GOD's plan, afterall if it is in his plan, he will handle it well.

Many other touching points in the show... but too lengthy to share finish here. Can lend u guys the VCD if u wanna watch.

My building pledge

A testimony.

Just last week, I found out that I did not receive any stipend from the school. It was ceased abruptly because my progress report for my second academic year hadn't been submitted. My sup had forgotten about it. :S So I foresee my savings would dwindle for one or two months, especially if the administration in school is slow.

More importantly, this had particularly turned into a challenge for me in the area of giving to the Lord when we were asked to pledge for the church's building fund in the same week. In addition, I had previously turned down next semester's lab duties for undergrads as I need the time to focus on my research. My tuition assignments have also ended during the Nov-Dec holidays. As such, I do not have extra income and it worried me to how much I can give. But during the pledge, I decided to write down a sum I had asked the Lord. 'Are you sure? Is that the amount?' I asked Him. It was neither a sum that I am comfortable in giving with nor a target that I am confident in meeting by Mar. But I was reminded of how He had provided for me last year in a similar case when my stipend was 'freezed' for a few months. I went for the Sweden exploratory trip then. Hence, with that reminder, I went ahead to pledge the sum in mind.

Still worried, I consulted with my financial advisor who helped me to do some calculations. She asked me if I would consider getting a part-time job during this two months that would generate sufficient income to cushion the 'crisis'. I knew that I could and would only give tuition but I have none then. Surprisingly, on the following day, the mum of one of my students called and requested that I continued tutoring her kid during the holidays. I was overjoyed and knew that the Lord has provided for me again!

'Amen' My advisor responded with SMS when I told her about this. :)
